The 12th Auld Tom Morris Challenge Match was played over the Jubilee Course on the Jubilee Bronze Course in ideal weather conditions on Friday 23rd September (yes, we did have one or two decent days, this summer!)
The competition followed the usual format of individual and pairs stableford played, of course, with hickory clubs.
The Winner of the Grand Challenge was Jack Willoughby with an excellent score of 25 pts. Jack also partnered Raymond Gatherum to win the pairs competition with a well crafted total of 30 points.
Runner up in both competitions was Jack Munro with a total of 21 pts in the individual event and 27 points in the pairs along with partner Andy Rae.
Jimmy Philp was a close third in both the individual competition with 19pts and in the pairs event with partner Donald Stewart where they collected 26pts.
The traditional Supper and Presentation of Prizes took place after the golf in the St Andrews Golf Club where Patron David Joy, assisted by Hon Secretary, Janet Finlay, welcomed a significant number of Members and Friends with wives and partners.
