The13th Auld Tom Morris Grand Challenge Match was played over the Jubilee Bronze Course on Friday 6th September. The competition followed the usual format of individual and pairs stableford played, of course, with hickory clubs.
The Winner of the Grand Challenge was Eric Brown, of the New Golf Club, (pictured above with Keepers Patron, David Joy) with an excellent tally of 23 points in very testing conditions. In a very closely fought tournament, the runner up was Stuart Gatherum, St Andrews Golf Club, with 22points.
The winners of the Pairs Competition were Dennis Clark and Ian Stewart (making his debut with hickory clubs) both of the St Andrews Golf Club with a well crafted total of 28 points. In an equally closely contested competition, the runners up - Stuart Gatherum (again!) and Gordon Murray of the St Andrews Club - lost out by a single point.
The traditional Supper and Presentation of Prizes took place in the St Andrews Golf Club, where Keepers Patron, David Joy, provided an update on recent activities to a cosmopolitan group of Members and Friends.
